Economic Development Commission


Introduction

The Economic Development Commission's purpose is to enhance Milton's economic future by:

  • Advising staff and the Board on infrastructure improvements that drive development and business investment;
  • Advising staff and the Board on ways to promote and market Milton;
  • Advising staff and the Board on ways to implement the Town's Economic Development Strategy;
  • Assistomg in the evaluation of taxation policy;
  • Assisting in the evaluation of the Town's development regulations and their impact on tax revenues;
  • Advocating for business interests before staff and the Board;
  • Studying economic trends in the town, region and state; and
  • Educating the public on economic issues facing Milton.

Members

Commissioners serve 3-year terms and the Commission is comprised of 2 ex-officio members: the Town Manager and Superintendent; 3 community members appointed by the Selectboard; at least 4 but not more than 9 Business Representatives appointed by the Commission; and 1 Representative of the Milton Business Association. The Commission holds regular meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building Town Manager's Conference Room at 43 Bombardier Road.  You can follow the activities of the Commission by viewing agendas and minutes here.

Projects and Events

The Economic Development Commission is pleased to announce Milton's Business Community Appreciation Breakfast on June 7, 2017 at 8 AM in the Municipal Building Community Room at 43 Bombardier Rd. Please join us for this event as we work to: keep you informed about municipal projects underway, strengthen Milton's network of businesses and investors; and exchange ideas to enhance and develop Milton's economy.
