Residential Building Permit Inspections

The Town of Milton Assessor's Office will be conducting inspections of all properties that have had building permits issued to assess the improvement/change in order to keep our records current. If you are a property owner that has been issued a building permit you can expect a visit from the Assessor. Ed Clodfelter, the Town Assessor handles commercial properties. Lor Frohock, the Town Assistant Assessor will be doing the field inspections of residential properties, interior and exterior. They will have indentification and a copy of the permits.

For those properties where the project is on the exterior, the improvement will be measured and photos taken. A card will be left at the property indicating the assessor was there and what inspection was done and/or if an interior inspection is needed. For those properties where an interior inspection is necessary, notification will be left. Please call to set up an appointment with us.

Update on Town Natural Areas Damage

12/01/17: The recent windstorm in November caused much greater than usual damage to Milton's natural areas including Milton Town Forest, Eagle Mountain, Lamoille River Walk, and Bombardier Park. Hundreds of trees have been cleared by Public Works employees and dedicated volunteers in order to make trails passable - and work continues. The Town of Milton is committed to improving the condition of these trails, however with the winter plowing season here, and storm-related roadside clean-up still to be done in town, other tasks may take priority. While trails and natural areas are not closed, anyone using them should do so with caution and at their own risk. Clean-up may not be fully completed until spring/summer 2018. Thank you for your understanding.

Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 14 at the Community Room in the Milton Municipal Building from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting is also available. For more information, click here

The Town of Milton Emergency Operations Center (temporarily created in response to the recent windstorm) and associated phone number have been shut down. Residents may call 211 with any requests or questions.

Notice - Town of Milton Property Owners

Tax Bills are in the mail. Should you not receive one shortly, please contact the Clerk/Treasurers Office at 893-4111. If you have any questions regarding your bill, please give us a call. Tax Installments are September 15th, February 15th and May 15th; however, are not mandatory until May 15th of a given year. If you have questions regarding the insert in the bill, please contact Jessica Morris, Finance Director at 891-8076. And, if you have questions regarding your Homestead status or your State payment please contact the Department of Taxes directly at 828-2865.

Water & Wastewater Rate Changes

New rates for water and sewer will be effective on July 1, 2017. In late September or early October 2017, residents will receive their first bill with these changes. The quarterly rates are expected to increase for the average user by $12.19 for water and $23.94 for sewer. Please click here for more information.
