Congratulations 

to the 2022 Milton Community Champion Award winners: David Havens, Seth Duchesneau, and Ryan Montague!

The Town of Milton's Community Champion Award honors community members who, through their volunteer efforts, have significantly enhanced our community with their commitment, leadership, and service to others. Find out more, and submit nominations for next year's award at miltonvt.gov/champions.

As is tradition, David, Seth, and Ryan were presented with the Award at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2 by the Milton Community Champion Award Committee, with the following words:

"These three community members have started, led, and championed efforts to make our community an even more attractive and enriching place to live. In the spring of 2020, when so many were struggling to adapt to a different and dangerous world, David Havens pursued the ambitious vision of a disc golf course here in Milton. After contacting the Milton Recreation Department, David kept up the momentum and took the next step in making the vision a reality by meeting with the Selectboard. Even after establishing permission from the Selectboard, there was much to do to prepare Milton for the envisioned disc golf course. Over the period of several months, our three Community Champions united and worked tirelessly to clear trees and debris in preparation for the installation of the baskets and signs that would complete the course.

The Grand Opening of Milton's disc golf course finally happened in October of 2021, thanks to over 1200 volunteer hours contributed by David, Seth, and Ryan. This course has added so much to Bombardier Park - it is a free resource that can be enjoyed by community members of any age. David, Seth, and Ryan continue to volunteer their time to maintain this course for the Town of Milton.

There is so much time and passion that goes into creating new opportunities within a community. We are grateful for folks like David, Seth, and Ryan who are willing to do all of the planning, manual labor, and maintenance that is required for a project like this one. The Milton Community Champion Award Committee is honored to award David Havens, Seth Duchesneau, and Ryan Montague the 2022 Milton Community Champion Award! Thank you!"
