Certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates are available at the Town Clerk's Office for $10.00 per certified copy.

Birth & Death Certificates

Effective July 1, 2019, changes were made in the rules for obtaining birth and death certificates.  Here is a summary (PDF) of those changes.  More details can be found online at the Vermont Department of Health website.

In order to obtain a Birth or Death certificate, you now need to show valid identification and submit this 2-page application (PDF).  You can fill it out at the Town Clerk's office, or prepare it ahead of time.

Marriage Licenses

If you are getting married in Vermont you will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which you reside. If neither party is a Vermont resident, then you may go to any Town Clerk's office in Vermont.

You will need to complete a Marriage License Application (PDF) and bring it to the Town Clerk's Office. The marriage license fee is $70.00, which includes one certified copy of your marriage license. Additional copies are $10.00 each.
